    All I have time for now is the Bottom-line: (And yes, I know this (now ;-) ) Fuel level at idle is ~7% less than when on plane. (most of us have noted this...but the rest you work to avoid from learning.) So I thought I'd share the lesson, having recently learned it: There is a fuel gauge...
