If I did not drive so much for work I would have bought one of these long ago. Even though they have great range it still isn't enough yet but they are awesome cars!

My boss has an 90D and it is a rocket! Auto drive is also wild....he drives it from central Illinois to Chicago and says he only needs to take over twice on the highway sections!

My dad has a Genesis with lane departure and adaptive cruise control, and it was hard driving his car and letting it come to a complete stop on its own on the highway....just felt really strange not braking!

We were on the prerelease waiting list for an S for Rana. Unfortunatley the mandatory annual battery service that we would have had to tow the car to was a deal breaker.

We've got a 2014 ford focus electric and a 2013 chevy volt. I love never (or nearly never) filling up on gas!!

My friend in California has gone over 6200 miles on a tank of gas in his volt! That's his personal best

@bobbie Volt owner here as well. It's been a great car - nearly 5 years and almost 100,ooo miles. Hoping there will be a few more EREV SUV options when it's time to replace it. It's the wife's daily driver, and she still misses the space of her Suburban.

@Thom This is a car we added recently due to our nearly 16 year old will be driving soon. I figure all the fuel we save makes up for the 100 hours on the boat a season! So far...i love the volt. I would never buy another pure gas engine again.

Pretty damn impressive, looks like the Tesla will set you back about 150K.

I drove a Volt while my truck was in for service, it was weird that it was so quiet, that little car could scoot along pretty good. Now I love the sound/feel of real horsepower burning fuel, my Z06 does 0-60 Mph in 2.95 seconds and will run the 1/4 mile in the high 10 second range bone stock.

I have a Model S, it's the 60 kWh so not as fast as the 90s or even the 100 now. However it still takes off faster than any other car I've been in.

Love mine, however when I get the boat I have to part ways with it, that's the deal with the wife. Luckily it's a lease so I don't have to worry about selling it, just return it.

They do so many little changes and updates that resale value is constantly taking hits.

The maintenance isn't really supposed to be yearly. In the 2+ years I've had it I have only had it in for one service where they checked everything.

It's going to be hard getting used to checking the gas level again and having to fill up!

Do you mind me asking about the details of your lease? Money down, payment? I'm such a HUGE fan of these cars. Love that someone is finally making electric cool.

Don't mind at all.

With Tesla there are no dealers, all showrooms are owned by Tesla and therefore you are buying direct from them. There is no price negotiation. You pay MSRP plus any options you add.

Mine was $85,500 out the door. Regardless of credit history they require $5,000 down plus first month, taxes, registration, you know the usual.

I actually gave $10,000 down because I didn't want to be at almost $1,000 monthly. My payment is $835.

Compared to another brand where you can get some deals and negotiation you would pay less for a similarly priced car, however this was the one I wanted so you gotta pay for that!

I do save on gas, on my old car I would normally do $200-$300 monthly on gas. With the Tesla I do about $20-$30 monthly on electricity. Of course that varies based on what your utility rate is your area.

Thanks for sharing! Yeah at first the $835 sounds outrageous but you forget about gas, I'm at $400 for my '14 Grand Cherokee so factor in maybe $250 or $300 in gas then I'm only at about $150 for a "premium" vechical. Something to consider for sure. Like I said before, I'm just such a HUGE fan of what he is doing. Aside from it being electric and fast as **** it's one of the most safe cars (if not the most) out there. He really hit a home run on all aspects. I like the look of he model 3 but I can't stand the prototypes of the dash (or lack there of) they might put in there. We shall see, but very exciting. Thanks again for sharing!

Which Grand Cherokee do you have? That's actually the car I'm looking at to get after I return the Tesla. Do you have a boat now that you tow with it?

I have the 6cyc limited. Esthetically, I think it's one of he best looking SUV's out there but I'm not too sure on the quality. The transmission seems to have a mind of its own. Odd shifting (down shifting) sometimes. Sometimes it's really abrupt going from 2nd to 1st that I check my rear mirror to see if someone tapped me. If you're leasing (like I am) then no worries about quality really, as you won't be held responsible, but if you were to buy used or get out of warranty, I'd be a little cautious about the overall quality. As for towing, I do not have the tow package. Just an after market hitch and it tows surprisingly well. I have a 06 AR210 and she pulls like a dream. If you end up getting one from the dealership without the tow package, make sure you have them "turn on" the lights for a trailer. They already run the wiring, so you just have to buy the plug but it won't work till they "turn" the lights on through the computer which cost me $80. Honestly, I was so turned off by that, you buy a 45k car and you're gonna nickel me for $80. Insulting. Anywho... just my 2 cents. But to answer your question, I haven't had any issuers towing. I actually picked the boat up in Alabama and drove it back to Charlotte, NC and transmission temp was a little higher than normal but never out of the "safe zone".

Yeah I agree I think it's one of the best looking SUVs. Will definitely be leasing. Planning on the limited as well but with the towing package. I don't plan on doing extended towing like that. Good to hear of someone with a similar one with good towing experiance. Thanks.

While I was in Austria, a few months ago on business, one of the guys I was visiting took us out in his Model X P90D. It was awesome.

My neighbor took me for a ride last week in his new P100D. In ludicrous mode the acceleration is unlike anything else you can imagine. The power is instant.
