Hi, really could use some help. I bought a 2018 FSH 190 today with 120 hours, last week the boat ran good on the trailer with a hose for about 10 minutes. Today wheni put it in the water it started up and I was able to leave the marina going idle speed for about 2 minutes before the motor started stuttering and just shut off. Then for a good 3 minutes I couldn't crank it over. After that it was a cycle of it turning on for about 20 seconds before it died and again had to wait about 2 min before it would start up and die.

So when under load it struggles. No check engine lights? Check the rear clean out hatch kill switch and make sure it’s compressing completely. Remove and replace the safety lanyard. When’s the last time the spark plugs were changed? Oil level and air filter look good?

No engine lights, all safety switches in place, no clogs, it starts up but then chokes out. Just asked the previous owner found out spark plugs haven’t been changed since it was bought 122 hours ago … so will try that as well. Anything else I should look for ?

Dear lord yes change the spark plugs lol! When’s the last time the oil was changed?? Check the oil level and the air filter is clean.

How about the fuel, is it relatively fresh? Since the plugs were neglected, I would invest in a bottle of fuel treatment. Seafoam or the likes.
