Boating is fun, but what do you keep on board to always be prepared. This Capt. Leon video should be mandatory viewing for all:

Love the Herminey bag !

Great stuff as always Leon!

Be sure and check the exp date on the bobbin for the auto inflation portion of your type V pfd.

That's a great point about the bobbin. I was thinking of jumping in and testing it. How involved is it to restore it to ready mode? New bobbin and CO2?

Easy peasey…. The vest should have come with instructions on how to re arm it. Consult those first. If you’ve had that vest over three years the bobbin is due. They recently changed hoe the expiration date works, it used to be three years from date of manufacture, the last one I saw just an expiration date on it.

Basically you pull the co2 cartridge first. Then unscrew the grey housing and inside there is where the bobbin is. Clean it up , put in the new bobbin as per instructions, re install co2 cartridge.

The ones I have are made by onyx for Scheels, in their instructions they recommend jumping the water to test it and to become familiar with it. Remove the co2 cartridge and bobbin housing, Hang it to dry out thoroughly then repack it and re arm it.

Another great video Leon. I can’t believe you got all that stuff in that bag. reminds me of the video you did of all the stuff you fit in your boat. I laughed my ass off when I saw you pull out the towable from that duffel bag.

Awesome thanks!

no fn way you fit all that stuff in that bag ! lol

BTW you forgot a handheld marine cb radio with coast guard channels , and channels from boat to boat ! .. mine has a range of 5 miles , but if you get a hardwired long range system put in your going to need the antenna !

there are better ones with better range for more $

I use mine for chating with other boaters , where the fish are biting , weather ect ect .. its a must have imo !

@Leojay is like a magician. I'm pretty sure I told him this, but one of his older videos where he packs the boat with a moving truck load of gear is what convinced us to get the boat we got. BTW, this should be your next trick.
