195 SVHO RPM

My boat would only rev up to 7500 and after I put on the K&N cone filter, only 7400...what could be the problem? I mean i can sti run 40mph with 7 people but u know...always could go faster ?

Air temp, water temp, impeller wear or nicks etc, dirty bottom, some grass or something in the jet pimp or intake grate. The list goes on and on…..

7500 sounds about right my 192 only hits 7200 on a good day

I did gain a couple hundred rpm taking out the ribbon. That would be worth looking into and I also added a Lucky 13 cone which really helps the thrust.

apparently you can't simply remove the ribbon on the newer SVHOs...believe me, I've done that on previous boats and gained a SIGNIFICANT top end. L13 cone is on order

I thought I read somewhere that it could be drilled out on the newer models.
