I am curious why she needed a new motor?

I am curious why she needed a new motor?
At the end of last season I was operating at night and the tide was low and the port side scraped a sand bar and sucked up a bunch of sand and mud. It overheated the engine and cracked the block. I never got any engine light saying it was overheating. It was so full of sand that the pee hole on the side were completely clogged.

I can tell you took good care of it..a boat that year with the gray part of the upholstery intact and in great shape is indicative of a loving owner that always covered and cared for the interior.
