I need to replace the starter solenoid switch on 2008 SX230 (starboard), but how do I access it? I see where it's located on the fuse panel diagram, but have no idea how to reach it. Thanks!

The solenoid is in the control box on the back wall of the engine compartment.

The wire from the starter plugs into it.

Thanks. Can you provide instructions how to open the box? I tried removing the large 17mm bolts but they just spin.

You have to remove the cleanout tray to get access to the other side of the mounting bolt/nut.

You don't have to remove the box. Just unscrew the cover. I'm about to put my third starter on my boat in three years. It is randomly clicking. Then fires up

Gonna check wires in the morning. If that doesn't fix it I'll order one tomorrow At least I'll have an extra for emergencies

Why don't outthink it's your starter siliniod? Doesn't it click when you turn the key? It's easy to pull out and test.

Thx Speedling!! You saved me a lot of time. I owe you some beers

I'm with ya nieghbor!

Speedling, thanks again! Those instructions were great. It was definitely the solenoid.
