A friend of mine just purchased a 2009 212, and the throttle lever friction in it is about five times that of my 07 SX230. It's so stiff that it's near impossible to operate the throttles together smoothly, or make small adjustments in the speed for docking, etc... In looking at the service manual for my 2007, it appears as if there are two "throttle friction adjustment screws" located under the gearbox cover. I'm assuming that his boat should have these also, correct? If not, any other ideas on what the problem could be? We hope to tackle this problem in the morning so that his family can get on the water and enjoy their new boat!! Also, what's the process for removing the gearbox cover??
