Recently purchased a 2009 212X and it bogs trying to get up on plain. It just doesn’t have that punch when I open it up to get a skier up.
looking for suggestions of what may be the issue.
I put brand new plugs in.

Are turning 10k rpm?

That boat should have zero issue pulling someone up. Please give us more details.

Once it’s up on plane it moves well.
pushing full throttle from takeoff it seems to bog. It will get up there in RPMS. I had it pushing 45-50 mph. Just seems like I should have a lot more power out of the hole.

I’m not sure what other info I should include. The boat is new to me. The oil level is a little high. I did find a little oil on the air filter that wasn’t there when I first ran the boat. I plan on draining that to the proper level before it is run again. Beyond that I’m lost as to what could cause that.
Would an excess of oil cause that?

Elevation, if at high... but doesn’t sound like it if you’re still getting to 50mph.

Number of people onboard, or ballast settings.

You’re right, it should put you back in the seat when you punch it.

if you can, maybe crawl underneath or pull the pumps off and see if you have gaps in the impeller tubes that would disrupt the water flow. I think @swatski has a nice write up of how he doctored his up and resealed the tubes. @jcyamaharider has done some work on that as well, I believe.

Nothing in the ballast. I had 4 kids on the boat and one skier. Does the same with only my wife and I.
I’m going to the suggested links that were sent. Thank you.
I will be back with results , hopefully

Try removing your air filters and running the boat. Show us a video of your tachs and speedometer when you slam the throttles forward.

I’m trying to figure out how to upload the video. I’m not very tech savvy.

You have to post it to a site like You Tube and then provide a link.

Got some help. But here is the boat with the kids on it. It takes a while before it gets on plane. You can hear how it sounds like it’s bogging.

Cavitation. In search on the site search cavitation and member @swatski. He posted in and outs on cavitation.

Basically your pump is sucking air

@BigAbe75 references it up above

Ok. Thanks for all the help! I’ll investigate. Really appreciate you taking the time and so quickly.

Sounds like Cavitation. You are getting air in the mix somewhere.

Thanks fellas. Tons of good info in that thread. I have my work cut out over the next week. I’ll be back with what I find. You guys have been great!!
Sooooo thankful for the advice and this site!!!!!

You have some problems. I don't blame those kids for looking bored. That boat when running normally would have them pushed back in the seat and they would be smiling.
We are here to help. Pull your pumps and post pictures of impellers, wear ring, and silicone around the pump parts.
