What does this silver vent do, and why is there gas dripping out of it when it’s not running. I started it up the other day to do some maintenance and have noticed a gas smell ever since I’ve parked it. Thanks!

Is this a gas tank vent?

Yes, this is the gas vent. If you fill the tank all the way when its cool, then the gas gets warmer it will expand and over flow out the vent.

Awesome! Thanks for the reply. Once I posted the question I got to thinking that the gas could expand when it gets warmer.

This happened to me once with my boat in the garage and the warm spring weather heated up the garage and some gas came out and ruined a few of my stickers.
