All of my gauges are dead from moisture intrusion, looking at Ridesteady option but can't figure out if it will work without the factory tachs in place. I bet that it does require the tachs but I need to know for sure. Maybe it could work with just the starboard "master" tach in place? Please help need to order either OEM replacements or Ridesteady asap, thanks!

@Ridesteady will probably jump in and have some answers for this but from what I know of installing mine the only interfacing done with the boat electronics besides the power and back lighting was to the APS per engine and the RPM harness which was on the top of each engine. There wasn't any connections to the tach gauges themselves. I have a 2017 212X so not sure if there is anything different from your boat on install.

Talked to the guy at Ridesteady, he verified the unit doesn't need the stock tachs to work. That said, it also wont provide engine warning, overheat, codes, etc. So, I've found some new tachs (part numbers for the tachs was for 2012 AR 240 HO but parts were much cheaper and appeared identical so I ordered them). Would be ghetto with just the Ridesteady and no tachs so $$$!! Will make sure the AR tachs work then get the Ridesteady for the speedo spot.

All, I ended up buying stock tachs for replacement but ended up with 2 starboard master tachs. I have one of them installed with the new speedo and they work and look great. Just got the 2nd tach in the mail and realized it is the same part number as the other one (master starboard tach). Have I won the lottery and will have a 2nd overachieving tach or will the system want an actual slave tach for the port side? It's the port side tach position I have left to fill and the part number for this is different from the starboard tach.
