Looking to add tower speakers and possibly upgrade the existing factory speakers, any suggestions for a good sound without breaking the bank?

Head unit is already replaced with a Pioneer.

Thanks for any advice

4x Polk DB651s powered by 1x Clarion XC1410 (total cost ~$200-250? plus installation).
Works like a charm in a 190 cockpit.
Hands down the best setup for the money.
:D

How is the bass in those? Not looking to go crazy like I did when I was a kid but I still like some.

I’ve done quite a bit of research and am seeing really good reviews on the bazooka bass tubes (I know I laughed when someone mentioned them too) but everything I’ve seen so far has been really good and priced very reasonable.

And thanks for the input. I’ve had both Polk and clarion components in my cars before and have had great luck with them.

DBs are full range and I find them to be adequate in bass, I do not understand how that can be a complain about those, frankly, unless specific settings are used on the amps. XC1410 has virtually no adjustments, so no worries there, lol.
I like the DBs, a lot, and I find that in a 190 hull four of those work particularly well. In a larger hull one needs to add more pods and things get tricky.

As far as the sub, if it is a bazzoka-style installed inside a storage compartment you will hear it great - when out of water in your garage! But - once on the water - not so much... You would really need a directly exposed/vented subs.
And then, with the engine on - just forget about it! The 190s have almost no sound deadening from factory and the hull is like a guitar box - for amplifying the engine sound. lol

I tried a Polk 10" DB sub in a sealed box under one of my rear seats and it hardly did more than take up space. I have since put it into a truck box that fits very nicely under the bench and it sounds great paired with the DB651's. I was fairly impressed by the low end response of the DB651's at low to mid volume levels the first time I fired them up. The only reason I added the sub was for some base while at cruising speed. The DB651's will start to bottom out at the higher volume levels.
