2012 Shorelandr maintenance

Have a Shorelandr to go with my 2012 242 limited s.

What are you guys doing for maintenance on these trailers?

I can do the simple "spray some grease/silicon/protectant" on every nut, bolt, hinge, spring, etc., but after that my skills and knowledge are weak.

I have crawled around all over the place under this thing and cannot find any obvious grease fittings, etc. There are no bearing buddies or anything like that installed.

Do I need to pull the wheels and get to work greasing and repacking and such? I never repacked a bearing in my life, and I don't even know where to start. Is it obvious if I just pull one of the bearing covers off?

My shorelandr has bearing buddies or at least the equivalent. If you want to be proactive, you can do an annual on the bearings and pull them, clean them, inspect them, replace any with flat spots, replace, and repack. Check the fluid level and color of the surge brake unit. You can bleed the system too while adding new fluid, it should be changed every few years. I would pull all wheels and look at the studs, clean, add new anti-seize, and reinstall. Do not torque to spec when using anti-seize. Inspect lighting and tires, make repairs as necessary. Spray leaf springs with protectant. Clean and lube the surge brake actuator guides along with the hitch lock and ball housing and lock. I would inspect the brakes too and all lines.

Is it obvious if I just pull one of the bearing covers off?

The grease zerk is under the rubber cover in the center of the wheel hub.
