Hello, I have a 2013 212SS . the starboard engine runs great, gets up to 7500-8000 rpm. The port engine will only get up to 5800 rpm full throttle.
So what has happened is that I lost power on the port engine in November after a overheat light came on and upon docking the engine quite and lost compression. I took the boat to the Yamaha. They told me that there was corrosion on the valves in cylinder #3 and 4 causing the valves to stick and losing compression. So I waited 3 months for backordered parts.
They fixed it and I took it to the local lake, I did not get out of the no wake zone before the low oil pressure light came on and would not get more than 3000 rpm out of . went into limp mode.
Took it back to the dealer and they said the bolt that holds the oil pump gear on fell out and was at the bottom of the crankcase. They retrieved it and reinstalled it.
So, again, I took the boat out that same day and it would run better, but I would only get 5800 rpm out of the port engine. No check engine light, no warnings at all. (this is the same engine that has been worked on). The dealer did not lake test it at anytime to verify the running condition at all. I checked all the obvious, connectors, hoses, leaks and nothing looked out of the ordinary or missing. No strange engine noises at all. The dealer is supposed to "think about what could be going on" and get back to me.
Any thought or suggestions would be helpful.
FYI, prior to the initial failure, I was doing 55 mph at Havasu for 2 of the 3 days I was there and it ran great.
