What's up everyone I have a 2013 Yamaha AR190 I bought it new in 2013 never had a problem with it since this past weekend the wake tower cracked by the top hand bolt did anyone else have this problem I do have kicker tower speakers

Not heard of this before.....do you two tubes from the tower?

WOW, thats some serious stress to cause a crack. Is it on the welds? We drop our tower every week to get into the garage so im quite familiar with looking at the tower up close. Pictures would help a lot. Sounds like its a warranty issue being only 2 years old.

I'll bet the pipe was overheated when it was originally welded. I think Either the tower manufacturer or yamaha should replace that

I agree, that's a manufacturer's defect. It will be interesting to see what Yamaha does.

Wow is right!
Have you been pulling large tubes from the tower?

That is not good at all! I hope they take care of you!

Thats a part defect. You should have a serial number of the tower. Contact your dealer and see what they do. If not, contact the tower manufacturer and give them a piece of your mind.

I have a 2012 AR190 with only 138 hours and I just noticed a serious crack in the weld on my waketower. Has anyone else had this? Is the tower aluminum?

Wow, that's quite a crack. Yes the tower is aluminum.

Just curious, do you tow long distances with the tower up on the highway? I've noticed that the flex associated with the towers is different when the boat is in the water and on the trailer. I guess that's an obvious point since the boat can give a little more (absorb the deflection) in the water as opposed to the trailer. I just wonder if long distance trailering could bring this on?

That's a bummer @andrewsilver. It looks like the crack is just on the weld. You may be able to find a shop that welds aluminum and see if they would weld it back together.

Generally we don't tow it very far - 1 mile to the ramp and back. Most we've trailered it was around 200 miles each way. I'm going to bring it to an prop shop to see if they can weld it. Thanks.
