We got a 2015 AR240 last year and I was wondering what kind of upgrades you guys have been able to do to it? More power, tighter turns at speed, or any other upgrades you have done that you have really liked.

A couple of things that I have read on here are:
Cobra Jet Steering system (has anybody put this on their boat? how does it do at higher speeds?)
Riva intake and air filters (can't seem to find part numbers or info on this)
Perfectpass system (we do a lot of skiing and wakeboarding so this seems like it would be a really nice addition, anybody use it for the 2015 ar240?)

Thanks!

Have you tried searching yet? All of these items have been discussed at length on various other posts. I have the thrust vector sterling upgrade which I like because they retract if the strike something or at high speeds. Perfect pass has need discussed also. Seems that people that have it love it but I'm not sure if it's been designed to work with the new connext system.

Ya, the things I have listed I have read all the info I could find in the forum and elsewhere. I was wondering if people have anything I didn't list and possibly some more info than I was able to find on the things I did list. The thrust vector looks nice for sure.

There really isn't much these boats need. Most people customize the stereos add tower speakers, amp and subs. More lighting both in and out of the boat. Add a battery charger, chartplotter/fishfinder, rod holders , grills. Etc etc......

All mine are listed below.

Personally, I don't think your going to get anything out of mods for speed. You can spend the money on "stuff", but it isn't going to buy you any verifiable speed improvements on a 24' boat. If you need to improve a loss due to altitude, that is very different and you can accomplish this, but at sea level, you have a 50mph boat! We have a member map that you would be on, if you just add your zip code, lake, or town to, and you would show up along with all other located members...just another perk of membership! Welcome aboard @Bryce Brady ! Lots of mods to do and get great benefit from without waisting money!

Thanks for all the responses to far. I am located in Orem, Utah @Williamsone46 we are awfully close! How did the Riva throttle body and high altitude impellers help? Here in Utah were at an altitude of over 5000, right now I haven't been able to get the boat past 46mhp really. Of note, I really love this boat, coming from a inboard boat I didn't think I would like it as much for wakeboarding and tubing but it has been great. The back deck is a huge plus. The only things I would really change are a little bit more power and tighter turning when planed, it would also be nice if the cruise control worked with the mph instead of the rpm so when some wakeboarding is easier when an inexperienced driver is at the wheel.

The perfect pass would be perfect but I don't know if anyone has installed one on a 15 yet. They do have an external mount screen though.

Pretty sure @OperationROL was planning on installing Perfect Pass on his boat...of all the mods you've mentioned @Bryce Brady that is the one I think you will like the most. And there may be a group buy in the works on the forum shortly!

I've not seen any good info on performance mods. Better Air filters did nothing for my boat....ok...I removed the air filters entirely to see what difference there was....and there was none!

I think the most optimum engine Yamaha made was their MR1... Believe me, there are very good mods for 1.8l, ribbon delete is an excellent example.

I did both the high altitude impellers as well as the Riva spacers. I was hitting around 49 mph and 7400 ish rpm w/ both the impellers and the spacers. I switched back to just the spacers w/ stock impellers where I hit around 47 mph hitting 7000 ish rpm. I never used that top couple of mph and it was a noticeable loss in economy. Where do you boat at mostly? @Bryce Brady

Would you say it was worth doing the Riva spacers? Did you end up getting flame arrestor air filters with it? Why didn't you keep the impellers? Was there a loss in economy even when not going full throttle? I mostly boat at Deer Creek reservoir but actually prefer just going to Utah Lake when it is high enough. Warmer water without the crowd is worth dealing with some bugs. @Williamsone46

@Julian, I'd be super interested in getting in on a group buy for the perfect pass system. If only they could get it to work with the Connext system, or better yet just get the Yamaha guys to add the option into the system to control by MPH vs RPMs.

I want to but waiting for a good housing option. right now there is not great place to mount the PP display/controller.

I removed the HA impellers because the increase in top end wasn't worth the loss in economy as well as the slight loss in bottom end. For example running at 35 mph I was turning around 5500 rpm with stock impellers, where with the HA impellers I turned around 6300 rpm. I still have them in case I need them.

The Riva spacers are one of my favorite mods. In my opinion it really wakes it up at the elevation. I haven't installed the flame arrestor air filters yet.

I most boat at Utah lake until towards the end in July and than we shift and go mostly up to Jordanelle in the afternoons on the weekends. We get in a few Powell trips in every year and a few Bear lake trips in as well.

Without increasing the amount of air in the cylinder, you can't make up for 8,500' above sea level, which is what you have on a utah lake in the dead of summer. This is just an example, but with a higher dew point, and a little more elevation, your above 8,500' and that is what the engine and pumps think they are dealing with. The rest is really just smoke and mirrors and you can spend your money, but you won't gain more than an mph, and it will cost you pretty big as @Williamsone46 said. If you want to get to 50mph, just boat in December! Cold air is dense, and it will get you there! Joking of course, but trying to let you know that nothing you do short of super or turbocharging will reduce the physics you deal with at high elevations. Trust me, I know about this.

@Bryce Brady Hit me up anytime if you ever need anything, I can help you out. Also if you ever want to meet up at the lake.

I installed the Cobra Jet steering the second week I had the boat. Makes such an improvement on tracking at slow speeds. It will turn hard when you let of the throttle and circle back to pick up your fallen skier. I highly recommend.

Bringing this thread back to life to see if there is anything I have missed in the last 3 years. I just saw the Hydrophase Ridesteady which looks awesome, any other performance mods for high altitude guys besides the Riva Spacers?
