2015 SX240 Stereo Upgrade

Ok guys, was hoping to get some help and some clarity.

I have a 2015 SX240 the connect system. I have purchased a big air cuda tower and also the kicker 4 speaker bar combo. I would also like to replace the stock speakers with an upgraded option and add two more speakers to the rear swim deck area as well as a sub maybe under the rear seats somewhere.

I have read that I need a harness to plug into the connect system to be able to change the amp ? What do you guys recommend ? Should I keep the connect system and add a new amp to power everything or get a completely separate receiver and stay off the connect system.

You need to add an amp You can get a small one that fits nicely behind the dash

The RCA outputs on mine were damaged and caused a lot of static noise when i used the Connext/Polk system that is in our boats. I installed a Fusion MS-WB675 to replace the polk system and added a Fusion ERX400 in front of the joystick. This system gives you 4 zone control and separate sub control if you plan on adding that. While the fusion unit can power the speakers on its own, get dedicated amps.

I’m still using my connect in my 2016 242LS. I have both a wet sounds amp and a rockford fosgate amp to power 8 cabin speakers (upgrades) and two 8” TOWER speakers.

I’d like to decouple from the connext system. Did the fusion set up allow you to easily bypass having to go through connect to change stereo controls? Can you show any pics of how it looks?

Fusion unit mounted under the seat, in the battery compartment...lots of connections back there. This is an old pic before I cleaned up the wiring. Mounted the control unit in front of the Connext joystick. This separates the sound system completely from connext. You do lose the tweeters in the tower but that's not a big loss. Mine is all powered by a separate battery switch, so it turns on independently of the boat systems.

This looks perfect. I already lost the tweeters when I added the two amps. I'm thinking that the Fusion unit will interface easier with bluetooth and pairing, and having to avoid touching/using the connext screen for stereo control.

Pairing is simple, and you there's an app so you can control the boat from anywhere within BT range.
