Hey guys, just wanted a fun thread to post the process of my new sound system going in my new 242X
So far I bought
6 JL M770’s for the interior
2 JL M10ib’5 Subs
4 JL M770 tower speakers
2 extra tweeters
2 JL M800/8 Amps
I’m back and forth between doing a fusion stereo system or keeping the stock Polk but adding a Wetsounds EQ rack.
Well anyway here’s some pics so far. F11B9AEC-81F4-48C1-ABEE-40F963914FCD.jpeg

Looks like quite a build and an early Christmas present. Please post the installation process and results.

Man, you are NUTS! (I'm envious).

Nice touch, I can see me going that route in the future.

Are you getting rid of any stock speakers? If so I'd be interested in purchasing.

Looks like this will be really nice when completed!

Where are you going to mount the amps? (keep in mind that you want the darn controls facing you vs Yamaha's PITA choice of positioning the Polk amps!).
Are you going to run all new speaker wires?
I assume you are keeping the sound bar?
Where are the tweeters going?

I know....you'll get to all of that!!! LOL This will be a fun winter project to "Watch" as it progresses!

What something like that is running you if you don't mind me asking?
For what the painting?

Definetly interested in selling, not all the speakers are in good shape. Id be inclined to selling all of them cheap and just use what youd like.

I want to mount the amps infront of the passenger seat, in that cubby area. Because of the stock speaker wire install I think I will be running all new unfortunately. I sold the sound bar actually to a member in this group! lol. Tweeters are going to be mounted in the rear seat cushion (inside not on swimplatform) so theyre at ear level, the coaxials back there will be components, and I am mounting extra tweeters on the wake tower facing down toward the driver and bow!

I would have thought that the Wet Sounds sound bar would have provided much better mid and high end that a pair of tweeters? The stock sound bar was run in series...once I gave it dedicated power it has performed so much better!

I basically just put the tweeters up there so they come right down to the driver and passenger (thats where my 10in subs are going) I sold the WS bar because having 4 tower speakers facing back and having the 7.7's in the bow I really didn't think I had use for the bar anymore.

I’m torn between painting the tweeter or leaving it grey. I kinda wanna see what black or blue would look like B9921912-AF77-426F-918D-758683E9049A.jpeg

Only thing I worry about is having to do this with a touch up brush, seeing brush strokes and getting any on the blue.

Yup...painting them would be a PITA.... you've gone one step further than most and painted the grills/Cans to match! The boat has a blue/black/grey color scheme....so I'd leave them grey to continue that theme (see your signature pic)

If it bothers you, you can always paint them later.....

By the way @DJMattyT, that is one sharp-looking boat. Maybe a matching blue/gray/black sweater for your Pug for Christmas?
