I was able to snag a one year old AR192 a few weeks ago. It’s a great little boat but I’d be lying if I wasn’t disappointed in the lack of pulling power. I’m 6’1”, 195lbs and competed competitively in slalom in my younger years so I’m hardly a novice. With 3 adults and one 10yo onboard I was able to get up but damned near drowned doing it. I did ski just after repeated attempts of getting my 270lb cousin up on skis so there may be some heat soak issues I’ll be addressing with a SVHO intercooler this winter. I just figured 210hp SC 1.8L would have picked me out of the water better. Am I off base with my expectations?

Thanks.

Something doesn't sound quite right. I weigh exactly the same as you (but, ahem, a couple inches shorter...) and my 2016 AR 190 pulls me up and onto the water without any trouble with a boatload of family and extra kids. If my non-SVHO version can do it yours sure ought to be able to. At full throttle without pulling a skiier do you recall what sort of top speed and RPMs you were getting?

Earlier in the day we hit ~43mph at WOT with a boat full of people and crap which seemed pretty reasonable but I didn't pay attention to the RPM. Im hoping the SVHO intercooler will bring some life back into her under work! I appreciate the response.

Maybe there are other issues at work here, but I would suggest a lucky 13 pump cone. I did this modification (very easy) and there was a notable difference in my opinion. That said, my impeller is a bit chewed up and needs addressed so that will be next on the list. Did you take a look at yours?

I have not looked at the condition of the impeller. The original owner only had the boat out a few times but maybe it's naive of me to think there would be nothing wrong with it!

I would agree.. check the impeller first and ensure she is clear and free of damage..
