I am not happy with the steering of my boat, It pulls right pretty hard at at any speed over 20 and seems to have a lot of play. Anyone have the procedure for aligning the nozzles and nozzles to rudder on the new boats? I would take it back to the dealer but it would be a couple weeks to even get me in. Thanks!

Sounds like you may need things tighten up a little. Also getting cobra fins will help with that tremendously. At least it did for me.

I have the same on my '15 242LS. I have found that where the family sits makes a rather big impact on the steering. Try moving them around and see how it works.

But I also agree with @FloJet - check your linkages for excessive play.

I am hoping to pull her out today and check out all the great suggestions I have received. I will post my findings. Thanks!

When the boat is in the water, get behind it (not running of course) and grab the jets and move them left and right, they should go smoothly while the steering wheel moves. If you get clunkiness or play in them it will be very evident.

Wind pushes pretty hard against my boat (2015 AR240). Usually have to hold correction against that and it gives the sensation that the boat is pulling.

Here is the procedure. image.jpegimage.jpeg

20170517_153656.jpg found the right ride plate bolt drilled way off center in the hull causing it to hang down about a 1/4 inch...not cool!

That's weird that it could happen. These are supposed to be all robot cut and drilled according to the videos. Guess the robot had a bad day!!

i think the dealer should get it in as fast as possible, if they can't they need to hire another mechanic, the boat is 1 year old, I don't think at that speed there should be any pull, , it doesn't matter where people sit it a 24 ft boat, I've never felt it

Update, I got out the trusty grinder and made the necessary adjustment to the plate, aligned my nozzles with a straight edge re-centered my rudder and tightened my rack and pinion bolts. Relaunched in the 30mph winds we where having yesterday and I have to say it made a huge difference! I will be speaking to my dealer about the off-center hole in my hull and see what the procedure for that fix may be. I picked up the boat at the end of last season so almost time for the 10 hr service.
Also, I want to give a big Thank You to Jeff at Cobra-Jet steering for all the pointers and thanks for the great customer service! Great products!

You are entirely welcome, glad I could help, I love hearing that people are enjoying their time on the water, especially when I had input in it.
