Hi Everyone,
I'm new to boating and am so grateful for this forum, a veritable gold mine of information, curated by tremendously knowledgeable people, so I apologize for the most basic of questions.
I am trying to solve a problem whereby every time I go out on the water, when I retrieve there is probably a gallon of water give or take that comes out the drain plug.
My expectation was that it should be dry. I searched a bit and found that the scupper valve is one entry point for water that has plagued some, especially on 210/230s.
Is it still an issue for 242x? Is this the location of the scupper on a 242x ( right of port side engine)? If so, how good can it be to have it located where it rests on the trailer bunk? Seems like a bad spot due to boat weight and trailering impact along with sliding motion on launch/retrieval.
I'm attaching a pic in case what I'm seeing is something else entirely.
Additionally, should I be able to stick my finger in and feel rubbery material?
Thanks
Marco
