I upgraded from a 2010 SX210 to a 2018 242X this summer and recently experienced an issue with the stereo. I was having issues with the stereo cutting out intermittently which didn't appear to be related to volume level, bumps (loose connections), etc.

After the problem recreated itself a few times I found that the amps were losing power. I did a little more research and quickly came to the conclusion that I had an intermittent connection for the remote turn on wire (blue wire connected to amp) somewhere between the amp and the fusion head unit on the transom.

Turns out that either the connector or the blue wire in the connector were loose at the fusion head unit. It wasn't obvious but after removing the head unit (4 phillips screws) and removing the connector with the remote turn on wire (blue wire), I pushed the wire hard into the connector and then re-seated the connector in the back of the head unit. Again, I couldn't really tell if it was loose to begin with but after this, I boated the rest of the day last Saturday with no issues.

Just a heads up for anyone having a similar issue...check your remote turn on wire at the amp and the head unit.

Good info and congrats on the upgrade!

Congrats on the upgrade! - and what a great first post!

My 2017 does this once every couple of weeks. I'll have to check the remote wire I guess. Thanks for the info.
