Looking to purchase this boat but I am concerned with the weight for towing. My infinity qx60 is rated for 5k lbs. The boat weighs less but I cannot find the total weight with the trailer. Do you think this is sufficient?
I would prefer the 242x but that would be too much for my vehicle. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yamaha used to show the dry weight on trailer on their website, but it seems they aren't doing that anymore. The trailer is likely around 1200 lbs. With gas/gear you are likely going to be right around 5k if not over. I have no idea about the towing capabilities of your particular vehicle, but reading through a lot of recent hitch discussions here I've learned that published tow ratings are very misleading. Even if your vehicle is rated to tow the weight your hitch may not be, and also likely requires a weight distributing hitch (which you won't have with a boat) in order to do so.

If you only need to go a few miles that's one thing, but towing any considerable distance it's probably worth it to look into an alternative tow vehicle. Not only from a safety aspect, but you would significantly stressing your vehicle shortening it's life.

Gas and gear in our '17 X on the trailer is just shy of 5300lbs We pulled it for a while with our 4Runner that is rated at 5K but it was not a fun tow. Plus these boats are super wide - no matter what you have tow mirrors will be needed.

Yamahas website shows the weight at 3,616 lbs.

That's dry weight of the boat without the trailer. With the trailer it will be another 1000-1200+ lbs dry.

Thanks for the replies. Heading to the dealer today to take a closer look.
