Hi Everyone,
I'm looking to replace/upgrade the speakers on our 2020 AR210. I'm trying to figure out what brand and what the specs are for the standard speakers. I don't have the boat with me to take one out. If I remember correctly, the brand is Marine Audio but I can't find them anywhere and I believe that they are 6.5.

I was just going to add an amp, but I think that a full replacement is best. I don't want or need to have the loudest system on the lake.... just something that sounds good.

Thank you!

Budget?

Looking at options and pricing. Less than $1,000 if possible including and additional battery.

I was considering the same thing and really couldn't decide. My budget was/is $1000 and I already have a decent house battery. I kept looking at things till my head hurt and then gave up.

I can put something together later. 4 speakers, a sub and 5 channel amp is doable for $1000 if you handle the labor
Can I keep the factory head unit or does that need to be replaced too?

Thanks.

2 Pairs of Kicker 6.5" Speakers - $200
Clarion XC2510 5 Channel Amplifier - $330
JL MX10IB3 - $130
Wiring Kit - $100
Extra Pair RCAs - $20

Total - $780

This would put you under budget with a pretty big upgrade to factory.

Another option would be to switch out the Clarion for the Stinger SPX700 ($10 more), add a third set of Kicker speakers in the helm area, and then do a Clarion XC2110 sub amp ($200). That would bring you $100 over budget, but a lot more power to your Kicker speakers, plus an added pair to the middle of the boat.

Everything can be found on creativeaudio.net

Which model of kickers?

I upgraded the speakers on my 2021 AR190. you can look at my post below.

https://jetboaters.net/threads/ar190-speaker-upgrade.34061/#post-560422

The Kicker speakers are much cleaner sounding than the original and fit right into the same holes. They are rated at 150 Watt and the stock Jensen or Clarion head units only put out about 15 watts. they were about $100 per pair I think my next upgrade is a Kicker KMC4 head unit which is about $400 and that should put out about 25 Watts. After that I'm looking at throwing in an amp for around $400. Total expense will be around $1,000

@adrianp89 Which wiring kit? I have everything else in my cart. I don't know much about audio.

You have the wrong subwoofer: JL Audio MX10IB3-SG-TB 10-inch Marine Subwoofer Driver Titanium Sport Grilles 4 Ohm, OEM brown box package, Black Badge Only What you have selected is more powerful, but also needs a bigger amp. You will also need some 14-16 gauge wire to run to the subwoofer. You can pick this up pretty much anywhere.

Wiring:

Kicker 47KMPK8 Marine 8awg Amp Power Kit - This is for the Stinger. The Clarion can be wired into the power wires off the head unit. If you prefer to run it off the new power line, you will need a distribution block to split power and ground.

Stinger SMRCA2 2-Meter Marine RCA Cables x2 (sorry didn't recognize needed two) You can run three if you want fade capabilities, but kind of pointless for only interior speakers.

Really appreciate it. Figured I could upgrade the sound a bit so if I don't upgrade the boat this spring I have a sound system ready to go, and If I do upgrade it will make my boat more appealing for sale.

@adrianp89 Ok here is what I got in the cart.

Looks good, you will need small things like speaker wire, connectors, electrical tape, zip-ties, but that can all be sourced locally.

@adrianp89 Again much appreciated. I have all the other supplies, going to purchase and hopefully get it installed as soon as it comes.

Shoot me a PM if you need help. I installed professionally for 15 years.

Wow. You're really knowledgeable on these systems. Still trying to figure out if I should upgrade. System sounds good while floating. Underway is an issue. I have 6 WS speakers and an HTX-4 amp. Still considering a soundbar and/or sub. Really not crazy about adding a sub. Wish I could just get an HTX-6 amp and plug it in without doing a bunch of splicing. There is still no availability on the audio and service manuals for the 2021's. And no wiring schematics either. Definitely makes it more difficult.
