2021 255XD Back seat sliding latch not working

After a nice day boating I went to move the back seat and the latch got stuck out and will not slide or go back to having tension. I unscrewed the two screws hoping to be able to access something and figure out how to fix it but that did nothing. Does anyone know how to take it apart and get to the mechanism?

i would carefully spray the latch with some penetrating oil... CAREFULLY, and see if you can get it to unstick itself overnight.

So this issue happened a few weeks ago, I just got around to posting it. I have since sprayed multiple types of lubricants in, down, through every possible place hoping it would unfreeze but no luck.

Did you use a true penetrating oil like PB Blaster? Not sure if it's your photo, but it looks rusted in the latch itself.

PB blaster was one of the things I tried. It is discolored but not like rusted rusted. I think the only way to fix it is to take it apart and see what's going on inside.

Can you see what the mechanism is on the working side and try to reverse engineer the issue?

From what I can see, there is a cable connected to the latch the comes from the bottom on the inside. The cable looks like a bicycle break cable. It's definitely a basic latch mech that can easily be fixed if I can get to the inside. I was hoping to find some reference how to take it all apart so I don't cause myself anymore issues.

Anyone have a diagram of how these work? One of mine is stuck (the release lever).... would rather try to fix my self then deal with leaving it at the dealer for 2 months.

I got it all apart and back together working. Pulling the rail out wasn't very easy but it wiggles out as long as you completely take out the adjustment cable screw. I took the hinge unit apart also so that I wasn't lugging the triangle cushion around. I poured salt be gone on the Garlick unit holes and let it sit for a few minutes then I tapped the side of the unit while pulling the cable to get it moving. Once it was moving I put Marine grease in the spring hole and around the pin the locks the bottom and pulled it several more times. It all went back together easy so I decided to lube up the other side hopefully to avoid any issues. One thing I noticed was that the bottom screw on the hinge that you pull to slide was backed out on both seats. I tightened those up as well.
