After considering both 25' models, I placed an order for the 252 Sport in black.

Here's hoping it will be here before the end of the season.
It will get better gas mileage I'm told.

I did the same, would much rather prefer range over speed! I currently own an AR195 with the 1.8 SVHO, that thing eats gas.

Congrats man! It’s a beautiful boat!
It really stinks that they don’t offer the “E” throttle for the 252.

Did they did they give you an idea on delivery?

They said they will start receiving boats Mid September. Just depends what comes in when.

I contacted the dealer to see if they could help answer what the differences are between the Sport and E (outside the engines), but the rep did not seem to know. The website just says "E Specs" but does anyone know what the list of differences are? Also does the table up front come with both version as it shows up as N/A int eh specs chart.

I have never purchased a Yamaha Boat before (I have bought 2 Yamaha Waverunner thought) so is the listed price of $71,799 around what I will pay? I've been to the boat show and they usually discount a few hundred so am curious if they discount boats more or not since there's more margin to play.

I almost purchased a 210 earlier this spring and am glad I waited because I will be using the 252 on Lake Erie (Cleveland/Westside area), which gets some chop. Most people who own the 210 up here have stated that it's doable and to be smart, but I will feel much more comfortable knowing that this 25' version is a little more capable.

My last question is around storage. would most of you keep on the trailer vs. leaving it in the water? I've read some threads where people pull the watercraft every 3-4 weeks to clean, but was curious in general to what most of you think.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and info!

There's a video on YouTube from Yamaha about these 2 boats.
From what I could tell, the only key difference is the engine, push button start, and throttle system.

Not sure if the table is included, but i'm guessing it's not.

You don't want to store the boat in the water from what i've been told, could be wrong.
You want to lift it or keep on trailer, always flushing salt water out.

After emailing another dealer I just received confirmation that both versions come with the table!

My name is Brian and I am your local Yamaha specialist. The table does come with both the 252 and 255 E.

The motors and drive system is the biggest difference between the two models. The 255 E comes with the twin 1.8 VHO motors while the 252 has the twin 1.8 HO motors. The 252 also has a larger jet pump. Also in the 255 E, you get the Yamaha throttle by wire, throttle sync and single stick operation with the Yamaha drive control. Almost everything else on the two boats will be identical.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or would like to get one on order.

What's the horsepower difference

From what was explained to me, the 252 engines are 230 180 HP each.
The 255 engines are 250 HP each.

The 252 will probably do 45 mph.
255 does 55 mph apparently, from what Boating Magazine said.

We won't know until BoatTEST gets their hands on them I'm guessing.

So the 252 & the 210 pretty much have the same HP??

No
The 210 has the naturally aspirated 1liter TR-1 HO.
The 252 has the naturally aspirated 1.8 liter HO.
The 255 has the supercharged 1.8 liter SVHO

Hope this helps.

Who’s on first?
What’s on second!

I just watched a video review of the 242x.
It has the same engines as the FSH 252; Twin 1.8L HO's.
It's roughly the same size as well.

Time to Plane: 2.6 sec
0-30 MPH: 5.6 sec
Top Speed: 50.7 MPH

Will that translate over to the 252?
Maybe. Maybe not.
We'll just need to wait and see.
Will it get me out to the islands quickly?
Yup.
Will it improve my fishing skills?
Sadly, no. ?
