Family was out tubing and we slowed down to change kids and I turned off the boat while it was still in forward (slow speed, but not neutral). I noticed it was in gear, clicked it back into neutral (I’m certain) but when I turned the key, the engine wouldn’t crank; similar to having the stern access port hatch open.
I had to turn off/on the battery and I tried moving the throttle in and out of gear. Luckily, something worked because it started again (few!) and we headed back to the dock. I was able to replicate the issue at the dock, but I can’t figure out what sequence I need to follow to get the boat fired up again.
Has anyone else experienced this? I’m wondering if my neutral safety is defective?
