I'm having an issue with my 2024 252 S. When I clean and hose the inside of my boat, the water is not draining. When I checked the hose that leads from the engine compartment to the rear of the boat, the hose seems extended upwards, therefore making it impossible for the water to flow. Designer flaw/?? I have to use a dry vac to get the water out. Will definitely bring it back to where I bought the boat from, but wondering if anyone had the same issue on any 25 footer. I'm sure the design is the same.
Also, when I trailer, all my lights flicker, when connected to the trailer. I'm using a 2023 Tahoe with tow package. Brought the car to the dealer, modules replaced, etc, doesn't seem to fix the problem. Not sure if the issue is with the trailer or what.... All tells me its a ground issue, but all connections are clean, trailer is brand new and so is the tow vehicle. Boat being used in salt water, but I just bought it, in addition to the trailer... way too soon to be having trailer issues.

Don’t know about the drain, but if all lights flicker together it sure sounds like ground issue. Try running a wire from the truck frame to the trailer. That will tell you if it’s ground issue.
Good luck!
Randy

Not sure about the "hose" either... Are you talking about the scupper that is at the back of the boat near the engine compartment hatch? Water should be flowing from cabin into that and out the stern under the rear platform.

Do you have water in the ski locker compartment? If so, make sure the drain plug is open. It's a screw type plug that lets you isolate or connect the compartment to let water rain. There should be another in the forward part of the engine compartment. make sure those are all unscrewed and open to allow water to drain to the back/bilge/drain plug.

I’m pretty sure the center pin on a seven pin is the main ground. I’ve also heard of this issue with GM products when towing.

@mrdubean1 Do you tow other trailers with no issue? I also assume that by “all my lights flicker “ you mean the Tahoes lights flicker too, or just the trailer lights?

Pictures will help us with the boat draining issues.

I have seen many newish gm trucks do this. Talking with a customer the other day while he was picking up his waverunner it flickered a few times.

I know there was also an issue with the GM trucks and electric over hydraulic brakes. Something about the electric motor putting noise into the system that the controller didn’t like. Pretty sure I got tat from a post here.

Good morning. The white drain hose was cut to size by the Yamaha dealership, telling me it was improperly installed from manufacturer.
The flickering of the trailer lights is a GM issue. I connected the trailer to a Dodge and a Ford, without any issues. GM Tahoe went to the dealership, they replaced modules after modules, replaced the connector. Problem is still there. I tow the boat once or twice a week during the summer here in NY. What I started doing now is unplugging the trailer after I put the boat in the water, since we'll spend all day at the beach, to prevent my GM Tahoe battery from draining. Not sure if it would drain it within the span of 6-8 hrs, but you never know. 2023 Tahoe FYI.

So in your latest post you have now mentioned a draining battery. Was this an issue you at the time of your first post in this thread or has this developed since you first posted ?

A guy I knew had a 2015 gmc pick up and the hot at the trailer 7 pin plug stayed hot when the engine was off, and subsequently ran his batteries down when he had his new camper plugged into the 7 pin. I know my Ford does not do that, no vehicle should have accessories hot when the engine is not running or at least be on a time out. But, I think this is reconfigurable either by hard wire or a computer setting in the vehicle on the GM products. IF having the boat trailer connected to your truck is running the battery down and not when the boat trailer is not connected then there is a problem with the boat trailer wiring. Firstly, the hot position on the boat trailer 7 pin plug should not be connected to anything. If this is the case then it is a low enough a current flow that the fuse is not blowing.

I’d also suggest getting on the phone with GM corporate and kick that ball down the hill about the flickering trailer lights, that is a safety issue. And when you say flicker, is it like a rapid flicker of a few times a second, or the occasional flicker?

My concern with the draining the battery is as explained. When the trailer is connected and the car is running, everything works ok. When it gets dark, the lights come on the dash board of the 2023 Tahoe then it tells me that the left and right tail lights are not working properly. But during day light, everything works perfectly.
When i park the trailer and turn the vehicle off, the lights on the trailer flicker. All around the trailer, and the tail lights of the Tahoe flicker as well. A light flickering, easily noticed at night, but also noticible during the day. Keep in mind, this only happens when connected to the Tahoe. I connected the same trailer to two other vehicles without the same issue.
I brought the car to the dealer and they don’t know what the problem is. Showed them a video of the flickering and stated it doesn’t happen with two other vehicles.
I simply don’t have the time to bring the car to the dealer again and waste another week. GM needs to fix this software mess.
What i did this summer was disconnect the trailer from the car when parked, preventing the car battery from draining.
