212 Connext screen brightness

Has anyone figured out how to dim the connext screen to actual usable brightness at night? I have the older connext 2017 and even in night mode at the lowest setting (I believe 5%) there is no way to run that screen at night. I always have to place the rubber cover over it. I am thinking about tinting it or having a tint film or computer privacy film for night time Ops.

yeah you can get a cheap black/dark semi-transparent plastic folder at Staples and cut out a little piece to put over the screen ....
