Anyone have things come lose after 10 hours of use? The engine cover thats a seat that flips up, the screws came out of the hinge. Luckily, i found them with the washers and used threadlock and put them back in. Any other things I should look for? Also if I want a little more pep, where should I start? I bought the fins for the low speed turning. Cobrajet I think it was. But as far as making the boat faster...Where should I start and then where should I end? I dont wanna do any engine mods internally. I remember years ago on a jet ski, we used to change the intake grate to one with scoops on it so it would scoop up the water. Do they still make them and is useful?

You really cant boost your speed much, unless you do some serious engine mods. It is what it is. There are numerous discussions on this here if you search.

I would go over everything in the boat everywhere and tighten things up and adjust.

Your definitely gonna need to go over everything and tighten. It's actually something the dealer will do on your 10hr service if you took it in to them. Seats, hatches, and everything in your dash in particular needs to be tightened. I do it to our boat about once a year.

Now for performance mods your really not gonna get a bunch. However, like a jet ski you can trick it out with mods. Riva Racing makes quite a bunch of things for the SVHO engine. Intake and filter (it'll breathe better), upgraded intercooler (breathe better), blow off valve (helps reduce supercharger clutch wear), exhaust (breathes better), but all those things won't give you anymore power or speed. Best bang for your buck would be having your ecu flashed by them. Even then though you'll need all the mods posted to do a flash. All that for maybe 5mph.

Best upgrades you can do is Solas impeller and wear ring (faster hole shot), and a L13 cone (faster hole shot).

We have almost the same boat, except you have the wake tower, I have the fold down bimini top. I have seen many posts were people are upgrading their superchargers and modding out for thousands of dollars and only gaining a couple extra MPH, to me, the cost vs result isn't worth the additional wear on the engine. I added the Cobra Jet Super Ultimate AK-19 Deluxe steering fins and that made a HUGE difference at slow speed steering and trailer loading as well as forward and reverse docking. On the pump side, make sure the rubber covers over the steering cable and reverse gate cable are actually slipped over the cable to prevent water from entering the cable and rusting / corroding. There are many posts about the various 19' models having steering cable issue (195S, SX195, and FSH19) mine included. I ALWAYS flush my engine right after I use the boat (in saltwater) with Salt Off to prevent any long term issues, this is also good for spraying down the trailer and running gear. To me, while the boat is still under warranty, try not to mod anything out to much that will prevent warranty claims from being denied if something was to go wrong, I am a proactive not reactive type of person. Also adding some Star Tron to your fuel will help prevent injector clog up and dirty fuel from hindering performance (again, suggested from this site). Yamaha has done their research and the preventative maintenance section in the owners manual should be followed ;)

This is a great forum with TONS of knowledgeable boaters that will help when the time comes (I use everyone to my advantage and help when I can)

I use salt-away after every use. I put the CJ Super Ultimate on before the boat even hit the water. I feel that mid throttle the boat is not going fast until i pass 20MPH and then it picks up fast. I can hit 42ish at WOT on the flattest water i can find. TO prevent cavitation or disturbed water flow into the jet, do they make a gate that has scoops on it for our boats? Im in NYC so the water is 80% of the time very rough. I feel that would help. And how hard is it to change the impeller and cone? Does the boat have to come out of the water? Its currently at a marina on a lift. 100% salt water use so I had to get an air lift. But I would have to ask them to take it out ($200) or bring it to a local ramp to put on the trailer.

What you feel is normal for a jet boat. The last 1000 RPM's or less is where you really increase speed. Yes you will need to have the boat out of the water to change impeller and cone and pull the pump.

I had numerous dash bezel nuts and washers fall out from under the dash and some of the rear seat nuts and washer fell off - i just put them on myself.
