i went to put up Bimini top last time out and front poles were on top of the Bimini. I don't understand how they got flipped over, as I put the top up first time out and it wasn't like this. I took Bimini off boat to clean it but didn't take the poles out of the top. Any ideas?

I don't have your model boat @MattFX4 but it looks like I'm looking at the underside of the bimini top due to the bend in the pole. Is that possible? Maybe it's just my perspective.

In the pic the fabric you see is the topside of the Bimini. I assume the side with the exposed stitching and seams should be underside right? With the nicer looking side on top? I removed poles and reinstalled them on the underside. For the life of me I can not understand how they got on the topside like that. Especially since I had the Bimini up once with no problems.

Will try to put it up today on the boat and see how it gos.

Again @MattFX4 It was just a guess on my part as I don't have your model boat. I saw the zipper tab showing and thought that should be the bottom side but wasn't sure.

Ok think i got it. Pretty sure then side with the tag is the underside right? Still confused how front poles got on topside. Oh well.

I haven't used mine yet, but yes the tags should be down

Oh the contortions a Bimini or tent can go through when inside a stuff sack...

I had the same issue, I opened the bimini top and the poles that connect to the tower were upside down. My front bar still doesn't sit right and I need to adjust it!

Well it worked!!

Happens all the time. Slide and compress the fabric inward then you can flip and rotate the entire pole.

Matt, off subject but first, love your boat! Second and more importantly, I would recommend changing out the junk Yamaha Fenders....I didn't have great luck with those and that boat is too nice to have dock rash!!!

Thanks! How's that new 242X treating you? Now that is a beautiful boat! I will look in to new fenders. Do you recommend any certain type or brand?

maybe something like this?

Yes like that. Those look exactly the same as mine....I don't remember the exact size but buy bigger than you think. When I'm back up north I'll let you know the size/Brand of mine but I'm sure more can chime in on this.
Still waiting on the boat to come in....they say next week so I'm hopeful it'll be in the water by Memorial Day.

Ok great thanks. I'm sure you will love it. Been out several times on ours and been great so far. Really like lounging around on the rear swim platform. Trying to find time to install new stereo gear now.

That's the biggest issue for us.....never enough TIME!!

That's great your enjoying it! I look forward to seeing you progress!

Hi Kane - can you elaborate with the hugger fenders? I have them as well but have not used them yet. What are pros and cons.

Yea the thin square hugger sucks.. get plain old round large ones.. or deal with this.

No worries as I would like to know more too. Worried about the Yamaha fenders now.

Taylor Made Big B Fenders. I have two of the larges one. They are big and bulky, but after 4+ years of docking and keeping my boat at a marina, I still have no scratches. Worth the money!
