242 Connext Beep Modification

How would one go about ripping the beeper out of the connext system? On the water now and because I'm at 1/4 tank 25% on plane which is 15% anchored it's beeping and the mute only works for 5 minutes or so. I'm pulling my hair out. The algorithm behind that beep for fuel is so lazy! Seriously is there any way to kill it without cutting power?

Got some tape onboard?

I taped over the beeper on my 190 (no connext though), and it dropped the sound level to less annoying from obnoxious

OMG that taping over idea got me looking for the speaker. I found it behind the connext screen and it has a dial on top of it that you can turn to lower the volume. It's not a volume control in the technical sense but more like a cover. Kind of like on a grill to let more or less air flow if that makes sense. That helps a lot for now thanks so much.

Anyone know where and what this speaker looks like on a 2016 242? I just crawled in there and dont see what you are describing. That tone is brutal.

I will post a pic tomorrow morning. I am not sure if it is the same as yours but it may help someone else regardless. Mine is just hanging behind the dash zip tied to the wiring harness.

Dont know if everyone's is buried like this, but I had a hard time spotting this. Wrapped it in some leftover soundproofing material, knocking down the sound by 75 % easy.
