I really like the black and white 242 limited s, but to me it looks like it needs just a little more in the graphics department. If I were to find a '16 in this color, how hard would it be to add the stripe below? I have a before and after picture for reference. Also, thoughts and opinions on the addition of the stripe?? Sorry for the crappy photoshopping. Hard to do with paintbrush program!

I like the after idea, nice touch. One thought though, what about making the added graphic a different color, say a blue or red to add a little more pop to the boat? If you where really adventurous you could go with a bright vibrant color.

Looks good. I wouldn't add any bright colors. Bright colors don't fit that model.

I like the stripe....not sure how hard it would be to get made, but I'd ask @IPD Graphics to see if they could give you an idea of the cost.

Unless Yamaha has changed the depth of their colored gel coat, I'd prefer to go with a boat that has a white lower hull....otherwise it will show lots of scratches if you ever go shallow...and perhaps even from the bunks. After owning a Yamaha LX210 with solid blue hull I won't do that again unless they really thicken the gel coat (which I doubt they will/have).

Interesting point. Something to think about when purchasing. Here is the inspiration behind adding the stripe. Chaparral's vapor edition graphic package. chap.JPG

Agree 100%. I LOVE the look of the solid color hulls in the showroom, but the trailer bunks really beat them up (as well as a number of things that can happen on the water). It is also tough to wax that are of the boat because it is sitting on the trailer.

The strip addition is great looking!! Any graphics company should be able to do that easy.

I like the added stripe.
Any graphics place that does signs and truck lettering should be able to take care of that.

I got a Sharpie...

Stickers get scratched, I'd leave it plain. However, I need to replace decals on both sides of my 242 so I might be a little jaded....

What are your thoughts/experiences on the painted hull?
