242 Limited S or SE?

Hi all. I've been looking at Yamaha boats for a while and have finally decided to upgrade from my 1999 Larson 226. We went to the Atlanta Boat show a few weeks ago and put a deposit down on a 2017 242 Limited S that was used for factory demos. It's basically new...I think 10 hours on it. Originally, I wanted the SE but they sold those before we saw they had the 2017 models.

I was talking to the sales guy today to finish the sale and asked him if he had any SEs and turns out they have one. I'm getting the Limited S for $57k out the door. The SE will be an extra $3k for $60k.

You guys think it's worth the extra $3k for the SE? I know better bimini and solar panel. Not sure what other benefits.

E-series upgrade for $3k - I would say definitely worth it. The E-throttles have some quirks, but are super smooth and come with real cruise control, and would be a prohibitively expensive upgrade in aftermarket.
As far as 2017 -vs the 18s - those have that big Connext with integrated chartplotter etc. Personally, I'm not sure if I would want the 18 layout, but it is a nice screen.

$3K bump to an E-Series is a no-brainer (provided it's equivalent condition/hours). Was quite a bit more with the options I had when I purchased.

Agree with the above if its only 3k more once again as long as its still a 17 or newer with 10 hours or less I would pull the trigger.

We went to see both boats this weekend. The Limited S has 13 hours on it. The E series has 22 hours on it. Both look basically new. They have been through some maintenance cycle in Tennessee before going out for sale and have the full 5 year warranty.

There is just one item we want clarification on. It comes with the mooring cover. The S had the nice black mooring cover (deluxe). The E-Series has the grey mooring cover that might be a step down. I want them to swap covers if that is the case and give us the better cover.

So we should have a 'new' boat by end of week then wait patiently for the weather to get warmer.

That's awesome, post some pics when you get it! I'd have spent an extra $3K for that in a heartbeat.

We would have preferred the "E" series but we have to drop the tower to get under a low bridge and the e series tower seemed too big to do this on the water with people on board.
We added a gps speed control and gps chart - adding about the $3k your talking about, but still missing a few e series features.
If I didn't need to drop the tower I would go for the e series
