2018 242x shorelander trailer

1. Is it disc breaks ?
2. Is it 4 pin or 5 pin connection?

thanks

Someone will chime in the exact details of their 2018 trailer, but 2019 tandem axle trailers had one set of disc brakes. 2020 changed and added two sets of disc brakes. Both had 7-pin blade light cords like what you find on RV/camping trailers. You can buy an adapter for your light cord if needed at most auto parts stores, but if your tow vehicle has a 7-pin, you should be good to go.

My 2018 sx240 has 1 set of disc brakes and the 5 pin harness. Not sure if its the same trailer that comes with the 242x but my max load is 6000# so I'm thinking its the same trailer for all 24' models, but not sure.

My max load says 5000 only

The 2020 galvanized Shoreland'r for our 242SE only has 2 disk brakes on the rear axle along with a 7 pin connector. Note that these are surge brakes - they don't work with a brake controller, only monitor if you're in reverse, in which case brakes are disabled.

I think the 2020 is when they started the 7 pin. Trying to see before that was it 4 or 5 ?. I guess I’m going to buy an adapter that does both.

Yep. 2018 242 Se with discs on one axle, and that silly 5 Pin connector.

When I saw the 7 pin at the dealer prior to picking the boat up, I assumed (wrongly) that it had electric brakes and was desperately trying to get a brake controller.

Sorry. No idea on tongue weight. I just bought a really big truck and never worried about it. :)
