242XE Window Strap, $46??? WTF?

Looks like I somehow lost the strap that secures the window in the open position (check and make sure your screws are tight Gang). In looking at an OEM replacement, its looks like we have to agree to Yamaha making a 500% profit margin on a freaking nylon strap with a button.

can someone post a picture of it, I’m going to try to make one.

Anyone come up with other alternatives?

Buy some nylon strap, button kit & make yer own.

Yeppers. Mine was frazzled So I bought some strap and got a button kit. Also made mine .5" longer so that it works perfectly now. Before it wasn't quite right.

@HangOutdoors which button kit did you get? Are these standard size buttons? Want to make sure it fits the existing one already on the window?
Are those found in hardware stores or Michael’s/JoanFabric like stores?

Got mine from Michael's Not sure if they are standard or what not. Just unscrewed one and took it with me.
