Is there anyone here with the 275 swim up stern seats? Are they actually being used? They look pretty trick but where we usually go the water is waist deep, give or take. But if you flip the seat leg upside down it looks like a great place to mount a grill. For the past 3 years I’ve used the grill in the table leg at the swim deck. But cooking up there means I’m out of the water, away from everyone else, and about to die from the heat. This should solve that problem

How much did the set up run you? Do have a parts listing?

When i first saw the 275 those seats are what i wanted......until i saw the price of the 275!

I’ll be in the market next spring for a 240AR or 242SE......glad to see someone out there thought of adding these (and the grill)!

More details would be great (part numbers and cost).

Thanks!

I was able to order all three pieces online from Babbitt’s. I ordered it back in January but because of Covid and everything shutting down there was a long wait.

Does that prevent you to install the Yamaha wakebooster? Seems like it would but it might be the angle that the picture was taken at.

I believe the bracket would definitely be in the way of the wakebooster

Coolest Mod yet! How big of pain in the rear was it to get the bolts in?

It’s not impossible but not easy. After removing the tray at the cleanout ports it’s a far reach to get to the aft bolts. I used a 1/4 aluminum backing plate and drilled the holes slightly smaller. I threaded the bolts through the backing plates so I didn’t have to hold the actual bolt as I was finding the hole location. There’s no way I could have reached the aft bolts

@ThatJeepGuy Boy you done started something now....... that is friggin awesome!!!!
Back in January I spoke to a Yamaha rep at the Miami boat show and he told me that these parts were not gonna be available to anyone who did not own a 275.
I’ve been pretty stoked about this since February but when the package came it only had the hull bracket and the seat, no seat leg. I figured that’s the part yamaha won’t sell us. Well it was on back order.

What you should do is take the parts to a local machinist/fabricator and then we’d only have to buy the seat:)

I too thought they were going to restrict this.....what they SHOULD do is offer (or include this) on the 212 and 242’s going forward...especially looking at how the prices have crept upwards the last few years.....

But kudos for finding a way!

How are you attaching the grill? You have to take the seat off every time you use the grill, I guess?
I don’t believe I’ll be using the seat much. Yes the seat would have to be removed. I have 4 studs coming out of the bottom of the grill that go into the seat leg secured with wing nuts. Super quick to put on and very secure. I’ll probably do the same to the actual seat to make it quickly removable 4FC1CBC5-C1C4-427F-9BC7-2213FF67AB59.png

Super stupid question but I’ll ask it anyway.......so you drive with the grill mounted or let it cool before heading for a ride?

The last time i owned a boat no one had grills.........

The grill cools pretty quickly. Once cooled and cleaned I put it back in it’s storage bag and under the aft starboard seat
