Hmmmm, I don't think he's wearing a vest. I know a few "bigger" guys and you can always tell when they are wearing a vest....example:

Kinda looks like he has a midget under his shirt!
 
While I understand that the officer pictured would have great difficulty chasing a suspect on foot lets not forget that the vast majority of police officers, and likely that officer, are dedicated to serving and protecting the citizens of their community and deserve respect for doing so. I have friends and family in the police force and have great respect for the sacrifices they make for the rest of us. Personally I am too concerned about my own family to be away from them when times are tough. That is their job.
 
I guess I should let it be known that my mother was and still is in law enforcement. Respect to LEO's is without question given by me.
