@KevJul2019 ..... I would at least change the oil before I stored the boat. Oil contains suspended acids, water, metal particulate etc. In my opinion it is harmful to the engine to leave this stored in it. The proper process is to heat the oil to operating temperature and using gloves remove the oil filter then drain the oil, then replace it with fresh oil and oil filter then run the engine to circulate the fresh oil. I also run anti-freeze through not only for freeze protection but also because of the rust inhibitors marine AF contains and I also change the spark plugs at this time although doing that in the spring is fine too. Others also fog their engines. I have never left used oil/oil filter in any engine that is stored - particularly if it is for a long lay-up.
