Howdy gang. Another mod is in the works. I want to buy the add-a-battery kit for future amp/speaker install. I was wondering is the alternator 65 amp or 120 amp on the 2019 ar195? Just wanna make sure i get the right kit the first time.

I have a different year, but unless they changed something radically, our engines do not have alternators. They have magnitos. I believe I have read ours are rated about 40 amps. But basically the small one will do you fine.

Yup magnito.

Ok. Magneto. So the question still stands. Do I get the 60amp add a battery kit or 120?

Have they changed from stators to magnetos?

@S1LV3R4D0 Seems like you are are trying to add a battery for some reason. No one here is intentionally being mean spirited. The questions may indicate that you have a bit more research to do though. Why are you looking to add a battery? Audio system perhaps? I have no idea what an add a battery kit is but imagine it is basically a switch and wiring. The amp rating will be dictated by the load. Perhaps give some more info and we can point in the right direction.

@Mainah I was wanting to add a second battery to handle upgraded audio, Tablet and 2 phone chargers and additional lighting leaving the main battery for just the starter. We like to spend upwards of 10+hrs out on the water and wanted to make sure there was plenty of battery to spare.

Using this here. Add-A-Battery Kit - 120A - Blue Sea Systems

I didn't intend to think anyone was being mean spirited. I used to be a diesel mechanic and i work on my old silverado's which all have alternators to keep the batts charged up. I just assumed the engine in my boat did the same.

Except for the size and weight this would work great. 100 megawatts. Good enough for 30k houses. Worlds largest battery.

?

I suggest a battery doctor switch and your own wiring. The dr will charge the engine battery first, then the aux. No switches to forget to mess with. Id use 4g wire but i always over do it. I ran 0g welding wire for my amp. You'll probably be fine with even 8g if you never plan to use the aux as a backup engine start. If you do, go 4g or larger.
