My favorite song, and as fate would have it, a couple of months after turning 40 and years of dreaming about it, I can finally say this pirate finally has a ship. Bought @Kennc's AR240 a week ago. Tomorrow is the maiden voyage.

Since I did the welcome thread a couple of years ago I would like to instead make this a thank you thread. When I first joined the other site I knew very little about these boats. I had been around Yamaha waverunners most of my life, so I knew how reliable the engines were. What I didn't know anything about the boats themselves.
Shortly after joining that site I was invited to join this one. The rest as they say is history.

Immediately I was welcomed with open arms, like most of you I would guess, by @MikeyL. Since I bought the boat I have been searching threads and finding his posts in most of them. He DM'd me right off the bat and was far more helpful than he would have ever known. God rest his soul.

A thanks also goes to the rest of you who operate the forum and who simply post on here. You helped educate me, helped entertain me, and ultimately helped me spend some money on a hell of a nice boat. If anyone is looking to buy the classifieds on here are a godsend. Not only do you see pictures and prices. But if it's an active member you can tell everything they've done and how much they cared about it. You know what you are getting.

I would say I am ready for some mods but @Kennc took care of all of that for me. Instead I'm ready for any tips you have. Thanks again

Biggest tip I've been given, never gets old, and is always relevant...

Spend as much time on the boat as you can!

If you're ever in stuck between going and not going, just go.

Congrats and enjoy the new boat!

Thanks guys! Went out for a couple of hours. Thanks to all the info on here we didn't look like complete rookies at the ramp. Saw several other Yamahas at Brookville Lake too.

Sounds good @BlackandTan. And I totally agree on the cover. The live version with him and Dave Matthews is great too. It was a little better when I was an under 40 victim of fate of course...
