I'd like to welcome Luc to the forum moderator team as our new Scarab forum moderator! We look forward to his help and guidance for all those with Scarabs or BRP engines (and general boating tips too)

@Luc Lafreniere

Hi folks! My name is Luc Lafrenière. I'm a French Canadian from Ottawa, Ontario that is perfectly bilingual. I spend my work days as a Geophysicist working away on a computer and escape it whenever I can by enjoying the great outdoors. My passions include camping, canoe tripping and whitewater kayaking (up to class 5 rapids).

Spending time at the cottage is high on my list as well whereby I boat on a tiny set of 5 lakes interconnected by a tiny, shallow river (hence the tiny jet boat!) that has a total distance of 9 km (5.6 miles). I also boat occasionally on the mighty Ottawa river, the historic Rideau river, Lake Nipissing in northern Ontario where I grew up (boating on the lake) and new waterways here and there. I own a 2015 Scarab 165 and have been doing all of my own maintenance since I purchased it. In the process, I've learned a lot along the way about the powertrain but also the boat itself. This knowledge ports over to most of the Scarab boats (and other brands that use the BRP engine) but I will be the first to admit, I don't know everything and hope that others will keep contributing. Many members here have tons of knowledge and definitely know more than I do, so please keep participating. You know who you are.

I've learned a lot from members of this forum and I hope I can keep sharing my knowledge along the way.
