I want to add extra switches to my dash. At minimum I want to add one for underwater LEDs and a second to override a low voltage disconnect.

The best idea that I have so far is to rework the panel on the right side of the steering wheel.

The warning sticker area to the right of the dash is a candidate location for a switch panel. But I need to install trim tab controls either in that area or where the depth gauge is. I am adding a Ray Marine Dragonfly chart plotter above the dash near the A-Pillar to replace the depth gauge.

I am wondering who may have other options to share.

Thanks.

This is an old picture of the dash.

Talking about the dash. For you 240 series boat owners, there is a safety recall on our dash boards. Mine is at the dealer getting replaced this week.

It looks like there is room to put a whole row of switches above where your horn and no wake switches are.

How clear and accessible is the spot below the light and above the throttles? That looks like a good spot too...

Rightstuff. That spot is clear and open in the back. I mounted a touchscreen for my ballast there. Cam.

I had a custom switch panel made. I have a thread on the other site about it. The guy does great work and can make anything you want including backlit logos.

@pagekl I suggest you start a new topic on this so this topic does not get hi-jacked.

This thread PROVES what an incredibly GREAT website jetboaters.net is.
WOW. Makes me feel so very grateful to be able to be a member here.
And by the way .... Thanks guys for this thread. It is something I myself have wondered about ...... and now I know what I can do.
Many Blessed Wishes your way ...... Mikey Lulejian - Lake Oconee, GA

I picked up a 4 switch Hella panel from West Marine:

I need to swap it out with a bigger panel.....

@Skysurfer2010, thank you for this post ... I will be hitting up your contact for a switch panel. I am also wondering, did you add the little phone cubby in front of the throttles? If yes, any chance you remember where you sourced it? I would love to add that to my 232.

Thanks again,

~Tim

Ok. Thanks. I'm going to see if I can order it for my 09 232.

Some owners have installed a small stainless bread pan to make a storage area there.

If you have a local West Marine they sell a few options as well. I'm sure you could find something local that would work.

I bought a Blue Sea switch/fuse panel that I liked. It isn't the carbon look of @Skysurfer2010 and his does look good. But in my '08 230, the panel I found looked more stock than something like that. I need to add a switch panel to the '12 240 and I like the looks of that panel Greg put in. And it has circuit breakers vs fuses, even better i think. The only question is changing breakers for different loads. I will want to keep to the 80% rule. Here is the panel I put in the '08, but I think I changed the face plate back to the charcoal color, can't remember now, @DawgDaze , what say you?

It IS a charcoal color@ txav8r...sorry for the delay. I need to bring the dawg home again soon to charge the batteries and air her out. So what is the plan for the LED's??

I don't have a plan yet @DawgDaze . A little mood lighting and ability to see when eating dinner or moving around the boat is what I want. The cool factor isn't as important as utility and ambiance. If I could get the lights totally indirect I would, but nothing is perfect. How y'all hangin'?
