Do we have any fans of the welded aluminum whitewater jet boats here? They are normally custom built from manufacturers like Hells Canyon Marine and use a large inboard engine like an LSA, LT4, or 6.2L D.I.

I don't see any posts related to them here yet... but I have seen a new forum built for them. WhitewaterJet.net

I say the more jet boat forums the better! They are still pretty rare for as awesome as they are.

I think those are a bit different than the run of mill Yamahas and scarabs most people have in this forum

I can’t think of any members here that have such boats but I see them occasionally on the river setup as fishing boats. Here are pics of one that I saw at a lake o visited a few months ago. They are or seem like awesome boats. No keel guard necessary.

We get the occasional post about them here, but not many. If you think creating a forum for them would be helpful we can consider that. @No Worries

@Mainah who went to hilton head with us who had sweet aluminum jetboat with v8 in it and air ride seats? He drove down from PA said often times he is in a river 6 inch deep in some areas

Years ago I may have been fishing with some friends and we didnt have licenses. Rural area on chattahoochee river. One buddy said I hear a boat... I was like dude your high no boat is coming down this river... about 30s later an aluminum jetboat comes around the bend. We cut the lines let the fish go and ran... it wasnt DNR lol.

You see these boats on the Susquehanna river (the one he's probably referring to) and there are several dealers for these type of boats. The Susquehanna is the largest river in PA - one of the main feeds for the Chesapeake Bay - but is very shallow with lots of rocks so fisherman either run jet boats or outboards with the hydraulic lifts to raise and lower the motor. It's a shame cause I live 10 minutes from the river but wouldn't dare run my boat anywhere close to home. There's a couple dams further down the river that allow for "normal" boating.

I'm trying to find a good forum for jet boats, I have a 20 foot custom weld and wanting to install a solid stick steering in it my self just looking for some pic of how people are doing it. I've looked on mean chicken forum but have not found post of it yet
