What type of amp?
Obviously check all your connections. Look for anything loose from bouncing around. Look for corrosion.
Check your fuse as well.
I had a fuse that was corroded and my Rockford Fosgate amp did just that. Power light on for a couple seconds, but then no sound.
Finally figured out it was the fuse that was corroded. New fuse and good to go.
May not be your problem but certainly an easy thing to check.
At least, if it's a fuse it SHOULD be easy to check!
Yeah I think it would be corrosion related. I pulled the cover off the boat Saturday night and tried starting the boat and couldn’t get either motor to start. The stereo was even going in and out. After 2 hrs of cleaning wires and terminals it startered up quicker than it has in years. The only thing that was confusing is that the power light is on. I’ll bypass the fuse and see if that does it. It’s a Pyle amp.

I truly mean no disrespect to you as a person and anyone else who has pyle stuff installed for any purpose. That said those who know have another well deserved name for Pyle.... pile of ****
Check that your head unit has ouput to the rcas with a voltmeter set to ac voltage in the 1 volt to 5 volt range at 50-70% volume for the headunit. Check that the remote wire lead is getting +12v and of course check your power and ground. If all tests pass then take that amp to the shooting range. Rockville audio is a newer budget player in town and independent tests look pretty good. JL audio rocks hard all day every day in any environment and wetsounds is a good runner up to JL Audio in the marine quality department.
Few of us have Rockville amps and have been pretty impressed if you're looking for a budget replacement. Ran mine for a good 4-5 hours this weekend, no significant battery drain, and amp only gets warm to the touch running on a 95 degree day.

I repaired a Pyle amp once.
After an hour of maxxing it out on a sub, lol
Only 1200 watts supposedly. Should have smashed my 12" sub into the stratosphere with that much wattage.
It didn't.
After the repair (never soldering onto a circuit board again, not worth it) it worked well for another 3 years.
Lol. I know Pyle isn’t good but it was an experiment to see how it would do to the salt water environment. All in all I’ve been impressed and if it is bad I’m out $40. So who cares. Just gonna eliminate any shorts before replacing it for no reason. Thanks for the input.
