A decent anchoring video… he mentions that a fluke anchor usually comes out easy, but the sliding shank fluke / danforth he has is much better at being pulled out.

Also note he is using a slip-ring, which are absolute garage. A true fluke is much better.

I might “work” less than you right now…

I‘ve got a slip ring fluke that I’ve had no issues with and the slip ring has made retrieving it on a couple of occasions as easy as possible when it refused to come out straight up. I do like how some attach the chain on a non slip ring danforth to its base and tie the chain to the shank with tie wire / ty wraps so in the event the anchor becomes stuck the chain can be freed from the shank by breaking the tie wire so the chain then will pull at the base of the anchor backwards.

Agreed… at least it was stainless chain… it doesn’t mark like galvanized will. But still…

We only use our Danforth as a 2nd anchor off the rear, boat it has a coated chain.
We have both a 19 land 13 lb box anchor that uses our primary.
While the 19 can be finagled to fit on our ski locker it is a PIA, so we have gone back to the 13.
