I keep looking at all of these sub woofer posts and cant help but want a little more out of my system. Right now it sounds good but I am searching for the perfect bass response on the water. Right now I have 1 12" sub under the port cabin seat and one under the starboard cabin seat. I play the one under the starboard seat all the time and can switch on the port sub when I want. I do not want to cut holes in my boat for porting or for a different sub so my question is, @David Analog , I was looking on the earmark website and seen 2 10" subs mounted in the helm closet on an older Ar230, how did this sound? I figure I could just open up the helm door when I really wanted to get the sound out and this would be my "port" without cutting holes. I did a little sketch of the box I would build to go in there. Would this be a good option? TIA
By the way I did remove my plastic try on the port side where the sub sits and it made it sound like crap, maybe the sub had too much gain on it and I didn't know due to being in the compartment?
