Hi guys,
I'm looking to purchase next year, never had a power boat before, small lake, 2 younger kids, want to have some fun, tubing, maybe skiing or wakeboarding in a few years.
I've been looking at the Scarab 165 Ghost and it seems like a tremendous value. Is there anything that can compare at that price? I'd love a 19 footer, but even one 3 or 4 years old, is priced far more than a brand new 165G.
I've sat in one, haven't driven it in water yet, was impressed by the seating and storage for a boat that size. My only issue was it doesnt have tilt steering, and me being a larger guy, i was feeling quite crammed. I sat in the upgraded model right after and the tilt worked great for me, but I could never justify the price for it. Is there a mod I could do? Or change out the steering column? Even a fixed position at a higher level would work fine (non-adjustable). How much would this mod cost me?
