I have.. looking at egr delete now.. the egr kills these engines... and a stopped up oil cooler.. i doubt i will ever get close to the max towing of this truck.
Just be careful. I have a buddy that has rebuilt 100s these 6.uh ohs, mostly stock. It's probably Ford's worst engine ever. They are great with all the bullet proof options, but that can cost 5k.
I have done a lot of research. I am well aware of the shirt comings.. one of the biggest things u can do is keep it serviced. I want the get the egr delete 1st so it doesnt fail and push out all the coolant or stop up the oil cooler.. the engine is a good one... its all the crap ford hangs off of it that cause issues... oh! And the disastrous stretching head bolts.. whos idea was that anyway?

The 6.0 was built i eroupe.. the 6.4 is basically that same engine but built by international harvester... the 6.7 was designed and built in house... the 6.7 is by far the best they have, outside the 7.3 . But they carry a 6.7 level price tag!! Thats why i got an 06..
I had an 06 I tuned and bullet proofed. Then I traded it in because something messed up my front end and would blow wheel bearing after wheel bearing. Great truck though while it was running true
I had a 2005 6.0, never had any issues with it, sold it when diesel prices went through the roof, later had a 2012 6.7, solid truck and engine - later bought two new 2500 HD's with the Duramax/Allison for our daily drivers and my work truck, extremely happy with these trucks one year into ownership.
