Hey guys having a major cavitation issue looking for any insight you guys have. Took the boat out to the lake the other day long highway tow at high speed 80+ mph with my clean out plug in. No problems on the lake came home put the boat back in the slip where I keep it went to head out and boat is caveating like crazy can only move the boat at idle speeds. Wondering if anyone has experienced a similar problem. Guessing I caused some kind of issue from the tow… maybe damaged a seal or something anything would be helpful. Thanks

You are supposed to tow with your clean out plug in according to Yamaha. I do every time, I would assume you sucked up a stick or something like that and it may be caught in the impeller

You may have a grocery bag or other debris that is in your pump/intake grate/impeller housing. lift the boat, put the throttle all the way forward and then take a look. Check that you cannot see anything from behind the pump looking from the rear of the boat. Check that you cannot see anything on the grate or up in the housing from below the boat. Also, check that when you lift the cleanout plug that you cannot see anything.

Also, probably first, make sure that your cleanout plug is properly seated and locked in place.

Hello talbert89 did you find the issue and solve it? my AR240 works good on idle speed however it looses thrust on the starboard jet when I accelerate ... is that what is happening to you ? please advise .. Thanks!
